CHRONIC STRESS💆🏾‍♀️ 🧘🏾‍♂️Hey friends! 💕 Arguably my biggest struggle all through med school has been dealing with chronic stress & it’s symptoms, as it relates to ME. I’ve refrained from saying too much about it, as it’s one of the deepest parts of myself, but as you know, controlling my stress was one of #gymshark66 pledges. _ 📚 Let’s see how I cope with it all, as the exam season has officially begun, with 6.5 weeks till my gynaecology/obstetrics board exam 🤹🏾‍♀️I am due to graduate this year, work on research, possibly move away from where I’ve called home for the past 6 years, apply for jobs & start back in the UK/Ireland, take medical licensing career defining exams, & the list goes on. _ 😖Truthfully? I’m shitting myself. BUT I intend on taking it one day at a time, harnessing my ‘let’s get it done’ attitude & retaining my smiley demeanour - no matter what. Medicine is my life’s dream, the path I definitively chose, my fiercest passion. Day 17/66- Tracking Your Workouts! - i think that tracking your workouts is an amazing way to ensure you are progressing with your lifts and in turn with your goals! 👏 there are a couple of different ways you can do this, so today we are going to talk about this! 🔑 - 🔸 Log Book- get yourself a notebook, nothing fancy just a line notebook. And every workout write down what exercise you did, how many sets, reps and which weight you used. Now when you next do this workout the following week, you can check what you did and improve on it. Whether that’s increasing the weight or reps etc! Log book is perfect if you like having something physically to use! 🔸 Use the notes on your phone- if you don’t want to carry something else around the gym with you (like a book) then you can use the notes in your phone to do the same thing!! 😌 🔸 I personally use the @gymshark app, as I have my personal workout plan on there, and I can track everything in there too- weights, rest time, reps etc! ✌️ - It doesn’t matter how you do it, but I do think it’s important that you do! Especially if you want to focus on building strength! 👏 ▫️ 🔹Journey to Gymshark- Day 382🔹

🦄 HOW DO YOU ACTUALLY GET ABS?? ⁣ ⁣ Not by doing more crunches. Sorry 🤷🏻‍♀️ haha⁣ ⁣ Yes, you do need to work your abs just like any other muscle, but they will appear the leaner you get. Genetically, some people have an easier time because they don’t carry as much body fat in the tummy area; others have a harder time because they carry more body fat in that area. EVERYONE’S BODY IS DIFFERENT. But here’s what I know to work and you can try yourself:⁣ ⁣ ☀️ train your core 2-3x a week. Every other day is sufficient, and do a variety of exercises to hit every angle. Honestly lately I haven’t been doing as many abs 🙊 but, you don’t need to do 100 crunches a day. Trust me.⁣ ⁣ ☀️ eat smaller meals more often. It’s easier on your digestion and prevents bloat. I like to leave my belly a tad hungry yet so I’m never too full. ⁣ ⁣ ☀️ get your gut in good health. Consider enzymes and probiotics. If you have gut/digestion issues, you might be holding onto extra inflammation and bloat 💩⁣ ⁣ ☀️ cardio~ do what’s right for you. This will help you drop body fat and reveal your abs. Some good mornings and RDL’s! Both pretty good movements for the hamstrings. I have a hard time feeling engagement in my hamstrings so I don’t try to go too heavy on these. Usually it’s a good idea to progressively overload but not when it comes at the expense of proper form and technique. Both of which I’m working hard to improve at.

Off season update⭐️ . Im sat around 9kg above stage weight and still happy with my current shape. I go through phases where I’m 100% on plan and have sensible off plan meals 🌮🌯 and other times when I act like I’m doing the 10k calorie food challenge just for fun😄🍔🍟🍩🍪 buuuut thats living in London with an appetite that’s 💯 and donuts the size of your head (yes.obsessed) . But Im enjoying this off season more than I ever have before, mainly because my strength has rocketed 🚀 I’m noticing added size in the right places 🍑 and my diet plan is 💯👏 🍩 You get out of this sport what you put in and I have no doubt I am giving this off season my all. . Cals currently around 2400/2500, cardio 3 x 30 a week. . I still don’t have a show planned yet and I have a couple of holidays in mind first, but my foot is still firmly on the gas 💥 . .
