After this moot i have to say that i am fired up and i have to speak my motherfucking mind.
The number 1 variable in whether you will succeed in the gym(or anywhere else really) is DISCIPLINE.
It is not fucking genetics, it is not if you are lean or fat, it is not how fast you build muscle or lose weight, it is not if you eat chicken 4 times per day or fucking salmon, it is DISCIPLINE.
Going to the gym, is probably one of the most easiest things one can fucking do. Unlike martial arts no one is trying to decapitate you with his fists or break your neck, or unlike extreme sports where you have an actual chance of dying.
Lifting weights is fucking fun, it doesn't make you a warrior, a beast or some other shit, it just makes you a fucking normal human being.
With AOC i have probably coached around 50 people if not more. And i see this all the time, the only people that make the changes they want to make, are the people who are disciplined. Who know how to take it when it gets hard and gritty.
And lo and behold, those people are also disciplined in the rest of their life and they are crushing PR's in life itself.
Being fat is not disgusting. Being skinny is not disgusting. But not having the fucking discipline to work on yourself is!
Don't be a disgusting human being. Have discipline.
Discipline is a noun which can be recognized without saying a single word, it demands respect and growth, and growth and respect people get who are disciplined.
So cut the shit, and actually have some fucking decency.
