If you sit like crap and squat horribly for years bones will accommodate into poor alignment. Likewise if you load weak bones well it can lead to improved bone strength and durability. ・・・ WOLFF’S LAW 🦴 ↘️ This is another example of the S.A.I.D. principle in biological systems. Specific adaptations to imposed demands is exactly what Wolff’s law is based on when it comes to BONE. ➡️ Julius Wolff was an anatomist and surgeon in the 19th century who developed this law. The law states that bone will adapt to the loads under which it is placed. It will specifically remodel itself over time to become stronger and more resistant to the particular loads which are being applied to it. ➡️ The internal architecture of the bone adaptively changes in response to the stresses placed on it. This goes all the way down to the biochemical level (and beyond), where a process called ‘mechanotransduction’ converts mechanical signals (physical loading in this case) to biochemical signals. These signals lead to cellular remodelling via bone cells such as osteocytes, osteoblasts, and osteoclasts. 🔑 You can engineer bone strength through specific loading to maintain/improve bone strength and density over time. Solo arm day! So glad it’s arm day... legs are so sore from yesterday. 🤞 that they are ready for tomorrow! Today was a good workout. I like the balance ball press. I wish there was a db btwn 30 and 35. 30 wasn’t hard enough, but 35 is too hard... maybe more reps at 30 for a couple weeks. then less reps at 35. Now before you all jump on the wagon, no it’s not IBS, Chrons, gluten or lactose intolerance or SIBO related pain. Yes I’ve tried EVERYTHING and been for all the tests. This is a result of a mishap during an operation BUT that’s a story for another day. Yes it is definitely triggered by certain foods and especially Whey protein! My experience with whey protein hasn’t been pleasant and it was quite the mission finding a whey that didn’t cause issues. I will never forget there was a time I had 21 different brands, flavors and forms of whey protein in my cupboard. One scoop is all it takes to know if I can or can’t tolerate it. Eventually the search felt more than a wild goose chase so I just cut it out of my diet completely. When I fell pregnant it was essential to increase my protein intake and honestly the craving for something sweeter and chocolatey was definitely there. I had seen on posts @titannutritionsa , a brand I surprisingly hadn’t tried and that was safe to use during pregnancy and while breastfeeding. So I took the jump and ordered my first True whey tin, CHOCOLATE of course. I was definitely nervous to try a scoop, already feeling nauseous from pregnancy and running a risk of having a negative reaction to the whey. One scoop in, 0 pain, 0 bloat, 0 vomiting, 0 pain!!! ZERO PAIN! So naturally I tried another scoop to push my luck and still it was a pain free test. I can’t explain how life changing it is for me to find something DELICIOUS, that doesn’t cause any negative gastrointestinal effects + a massive bonus of it being baby baking safe! So when you see my social media flooded with it is not because I’m one of their ambassadors trying to please the brand it is because their impact on my life has been significant! Training can be done in a couple of different ways, you can go full body and target all the big movements in each session, or split the body up into either push, pull, legs or upper and lower.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For most people, just being consistent is the biggest challenge to making good progress and for that reason, I try to structure programs to clients preferences. However, if adherence is an issue, for whatever the reason, I make training sessions full body. That way if sessions are missed, entire body parts aren't missed out. Because let's face it, it'll be legs that gets missed...⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ OTher factors to consider when setting up your training plan are:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Body part split sessions have more volume per session targetting one area, so DOMS may be an issue in subsequent sessions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Quality of your working sets may drop off towards the end of these sessions too, which is why, in my body part split programs there are only 4-5 exercises total. Quality over quantity!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Full body sessions have been shown to offer more strength gains, greater hypertrophy and better fat loss, probably down to providing greater overall volume.
