My favorite way to end a long day is with dessert. Or any day for that matter. I looooove dessert! It’s probably the highlight of my day. Yes, I am a complete foodie! My go to guilt free dessert is this: Yoghurt with fruit and dark chocolate. It is oh so good! And the best part is that you can choose your favorites to make it your own. How to: 1. Pick your favorite yoghurt - my favorite is plain. 2. Ad you favorite fruit on top. You can’t add both fries and fresh fruit for more texture - I love any type of berry or pineapple. 3. Chop some dark chocolate and put it on top. Done! Enjoy your own delicious dessert or you can even eat it for breakfast 🌼

Did you do a #mealprep this week? I usually try and prep a few things for lunches. Yesterday I wanted to attempt my own chipotle black bean burgers since I’ve been obsessed with @aldisusa frozen ones 😆 also I through some red potatoes, zucchini and red peppers tossed in olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper and Cajun seasoning in the air fryer! And lately I’ve been loving veggies and red pepper hummus for a quick snack. . . #dEATS on the chipotle black been burgers⬇️ 1 15 oz can black beans 1 red pepper 1/2 white onion 1/2 cup corn 1 medium carrot 3 cloves minced garlic 1/2 cup oats 1/4 cup bread crumbs 2 tbs flax seed 2 tbsp nutritional yeast 2 tbsp chipotle seasoning 1/2 tsp paprika 1/2 tsp chili powder Black pepper and salt . . Heat a pan over medium-high heat with olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic until soft, about 4-5 minutes. Turn off heat and set aside. In a food processor, blend up the oats to make a flour. Add in the breadcrumbs, ground flax, nutritional yeast, chipotle powder, chili powder, paprika, salt & black pepper. Blend until well combined and transfer this dry mixture to a large bowl. Into the food processor, add chopped red bell pepper, and carrots. Blend/pulse until finely shredded (don’t overdo it or the veggies will get too watery). Transfer to the large bowl with the dry mixture. Into the food processor add the black beans and blend until semi mash you want to keep it a little chunky for texture. Transfer to the large bowl. Add in the corn and the sautéed onion mixture. Mix together with your hands. Then form into patties. Lay them flat on a plate and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set. Remove from refrigerator and heat up the same pan on medium heat. Spray with nonstick spray and cook each patty until golden/browned, about 4 minutes on each side. 5am and it’s time to fuel my body for the workday. I know it doesn’t look appetizing but it’s delicious! Going back to an old-school breakfast I used to have the last time I lost 100 pounds. Whole 30 Round 2 - Week 3 . . Not much left. Second half of #whole30challenge will go so fast you won't even notice. Personally I'm not waiting for it to finish. For me #whole30 becoming a life style. I feel so much better eating this way - I feel lighter, less bloated, more calmer and positive. What not to like about that? . . I'm loving my excersise routine at the moment. I alternate PWR at Home and BAM with the total of 6 workouts a week. I'm not a morning person that's why I excersise in the late afternoon at around 4pm. It worked well for me till the weather changed - it's summer here in NZ and very hot especially after midday. I'd love to get my workouts done first thing in the morning and I tryed but it didn't work. Anybody has some advice for me?

Cucumber moong dal salad for lunch today! 🥒 🥗 . . I love South Indian salads because it has the perfect balance of protein, vitamins and spices which work so deliciously together 😋 . . This salad is absolutely refreshing and filling because of its high fibre , protein and water content 💧 . . My diet changes everyday. I usually tend to eat what my body craves for. Today I was feeling a little dehydrated so chose a refreshing salad with cucumbers and protein to fuel me up. . . . Recipe . . Mix soaked moong dal, cucumber, grated coconut, coriander, lemon juice and salt in a large bowl . . Sauté mustard seeds , curry leaves, green chillies and asafoetida in a pan with a tablespoon of olive oil for about 2min . . Pour the ingredients on the salad dish and you’re done. This delicious salad is ready to serve . . . I always loathed eating breakfast. Mornings were rushed, I wasn't feeling hungry, I didn't feel great after cereal with milk. Weetbix used to make me gag! 🤢 One of the perks of Coeliacs disease, I NEVER have to eat that gross, slimy stuff again! 😆 🎉🙌🎉👏 And don't tell me there's a GF version of it, I don't care, lalalala, not listening! 🙉😂🤣 I don't remember there being the range of sweetened cereals on the market like there is now. Maybe Mum just did a good job of avoiding that aisle with me?! I remember it like: "Weetbix, vitabrits or cornflakes? Hurry up and decide Sarah". (Love you Mum. 😘) I'm still not much of a morning person now. 🤫🤫🤫 Shh, kids. I don't always feel hungry first up. So although my mornings aren't so rushed, when I am working at the clinic, I make myself a batch of Seedy Pudding the night before. You can find the recipe on the blog using the 'My Recipes' link in my bio @akesohealthbysarah Here's what I do: 🍓 1/4 cup seedy mix in the bottom of a jar 🍓 1 cup organic plain/natural/Greek yoghurt mixed in with the seeds 🍓 1/2 cup frozen berries (you can use fresh if you like) 🍓 Put a lid on a leave in the fridge for the morning. 🍓 In the morning, pull out of fridge, stir it all up and eat in a quiet, calm place. (For me, that's at clinic!) 🍓 If you're used to sweeter breakfasts, you can add a small (tsp) of pure, raw honey. I'd add it in with the yoghurt and stir it in with the seeds. The fat and protein in the seeds and yoghurt will keep you full through the morning. Much longer than a high carb cereal + milk breakfast will. Just as easy (maybe easier?) but so much more nourishing for your body. It's been a while since I shared a recipe on the blog. Sliding into 2020 with a few small achievements so far... F*** the sad step! . The number it shows you does not define you! . I know all to well how detrimental to your health focusing on the number can be. . From the age of 11, I was completely obsessed with reducing that number as low as I could after what felt like a lifetime of bullying for being ‘fat’. . I starved myself, I threw away food. In the privacy of my bedroom I did endless sit ups, squats.... anything that didn’t make a noise so my actions would go unnoticed. . The number slowly got lower and when I reached my goal I stopped my compulsive behaviour, and then the inevitable happened and I would gain everything back again, and then it started all over again. This was my cycle for my adolescence and the best part of my adult life. . Your health is not defined my life that number. Your worth is not defined by that number. . Being healthy is not being obsessive, but taking steps daily to make sustainable changes so you can be the best version of you.✨ -eat less processed food🍔 -move more 🚶🏻‍♀️ -drink less alcohol 🍹 -increases your water intake 💧 ⭐️every small change can lead to amazing results! 🙌🏻👊🏻

I assure you that’s the best cheesecake you’ve ever eaten 🤤🤤 I honestly feel in heaven every time I eat it😅😅 Blend 70 grams of digestive biscuits with 50 grams butter and almond flakes. leave it in the fridge and move on the filling. 400g geek yogurt and 400g cheese with maple syrup and coconut flakes.
