Jalón trasnuca en polea: Para todos aquellos que hacéis jalón trasnuca que sepáis que si lo ejecutáis como en el primer vídeo el cuello sufre, ya que adopta una posición antinatural, mientras que si realizas este ejercicio como en el segundo vídeo dejando un espacio al sentarte para poder bajar el jalón justo por detrás de la cabeza y no bajar el cuello tendréis una postura mas correcta donde el cuello está en posición natural y no lo forzáis. Es un ejercicio que hace mucha gente y lesivo si se realiza mal, hoy os doy mi consejo personal para que lo hagáis de esta forma para evitar lesiones, o dolores molestos en el cuello😁💪🏻. This is a super long overdue post! But back in December, I hosted my first sanctioned USAW meet. We had some great competitors come out, including 4 @utah_barbell athletes! Here’s their highlights! . . Clip 1: @alopatuifua competed for the first time ever, and put on a show! She tied her snatch PR and hit a CJ PR as well. Alopa had only been training the classic lifts for a few weeks before this meet. Every single person at the meet was so impressed with how well she moved and her attitude! She just went out and crushed it! So proud of her. We have many more meets down the road for her! . . Clip 2: @john_chae81 also competed in his first sanctioned meet! He PR’d both his snatch and CJ. John was sick the whole week leading up to the meet. He didn’t let that get in the way. He stayed focused and dialed in and had a great performance. John loves this sport and has national level meets in his future if we keep moving ahead like we are!! . . Clip 3: @tanner_harward competed for the first time as well and put on a show. He reset all the state records for his age and weight class and qualified for the 2020 @usa_weightlifting Junior Nationals, which he’ll be lifting at in 2 weeks! This young man embodies hard work and humility, and I’m so blessed to work with him. The sky is literally the limit for him! . . Clip 4: @big_mike9 is a seasoned competitor, but had never done a USAW meet before. He naturally had no fear stepping onto the platform and did amazing! He qualified for the 2020 USAW University Nationals with his outstanding lifts at the meet! Mike is such a humble and dedicated athlete. He’s so coachable and is as gifted as they come . . Lastly, I want to thank @jennysuisse for helping make this possible, she literally coached me through the whole process of hosting a meet and was so patient and kind. Thank you to @troy__boy and @manuelnalvarado and all the other volunteers who came out all morning as well. So thankful for the Utah Weightlifting community!! And thank you to @crossfitlehi for hosting!!

Yesterday I was thinking about ⓖⓞⓐⓛⓢ and how setting the right ones are so important. 💥 I spoke in a previous post about the different parts to setting a goal, but what about the goal itself? 💥 From experience, for example, setting a goal to weigh 140 pounds. Is that realistic? sure, but what lifestyle changes am I going to have to make to obtain this goal? Is this goal going to make me happy? Am I basing my happiness off what the scale says I weigh? If you have to work so hard to weigh a certain weight, think about the lifestyle you’re going to have to sustain to maintain that weight. We want to set goals that are realistic, sustainable and that we don’t have to deprive ourselves of eating a certain food or not going to do this or that in fear of gaining a pound or two. We can get our leanest without worrying about the number on the scale. The scale isn’t life. 💥 It’s ok to have weight goals, but the goals I prefer to set for myself don’t revolve around the scale number because I have seen what it can do. It can cause obsession: every little thing that goes into your body or lack there of can affect your weight. Being worried that you may have had too much salt or maybe indulged in too many carbs will affect your weight, stress will affect your weight, the time of month, water retention, literally so many things can alter your weight for a day, but you’re going to think it’s too many calories so you’ll decrease your food intake and increase cardio to lose those two extra pounds. It can cause ED’s, just ask me. I would make myself sick if I ate something I thought would make the scale go up. I just think the scale can cause an unhealthy relationship with food if it’s not used properly. 💥 Let’s change this. Want to get lean? Do it!! We can do that without setting a weight goal. 💥 I’m not saying don’t weigh yourself, but let’s not obsess over that number anymore. We shouldn’t base our happiness on the number on the scale.

#transformationtuesday I found the picture on the left and decided to replicate it to see where I'm at today😱 I don't know when that first photo was taken. However, I do know I was fed up with that lifestyle. My heaviest weight was 235lbs and it snuck up on me fast! RC was away in Canada for months, I was a full time student, the restaurant I was working at locked it's doors on us just before the holidays, and it was winter time all leading up to stressed, cold, sad, broke and lonely. Ihad a binge eating disorder. I had take out every day, drive throughs were a normal detour, and a gym memebership that I wasn't putting to any use. I tried every fad diet and every miracle supplement out there, it just left me worse off than before in a yo yo cycle. Finally, I got my mind right. I focused on long term goals. I decided to speak to myself positively. I showed others appreciation and put out positivity to everyone I met. I stopped binge eating. (A lot of people, including myself at the time, don't think over eating is a disorder. They associate purging as the only disorder but you can be fucked up in many ways with food) I COUNTED CALORIES. I stopped categorizing food as good/bad. I took deeper breaths. I drank more water. I stopped agonizing about the number on the scale. I stopped working out as a punishment. I stopped bullshitting myself. I started loving myself. I've lost over 60+ pounds. I forgave myself. I want you to know if you are currently struggling with yourself, I believe in you and I am so proud of you, and the process for healing fucking sucks. But it's worth the struggle. I'm in prep right now with my coach @antconfessore and over the next few months I'm going to be pushing myself into the extreme, that is not for everyone, it just happens to be what I want to do for myself. I will be attempting to open up more about my journey, bear with me though I want to be more open about it so I can hopefully help others who have struggled like I have, but it's hard to be that vulnerable. ❤ Now let's go kick ass.

- Proteina🚨, ¿Indispensable?. - ➡️Primero lo más importante, la proteína NO es necesaria si llevas una alimentación correcta con los gramos de proteínas que tú necesitas🍗🍳🥩🥛🍔🥜🌰. - Ejemplo: 📍Un scoop proteína promedio = 24g proteína 📍1/2 Taza yogurt griego + nueces o almendras= 24g proteina. - 💪🏼Muchas veces pensamos que tomar un batido de proteína es igual a aumento de masa muscular. Bueno déjenme decirles que ningún alimento por si solo tiene dicha capacidad. 🏋🏿‍♀️Pues de inicio para un aumento de masa muscular requieres de una plan de alimentación “surplus” con la cantidad adecuada de cada macronutrimento. - 🕵🏻‍♀️Finalmente lo que quiero dar a entender es que la proteína es una estrategia: para pacientes que no tienen tiempo, que no pueden cubrir sus requerimientos con alimentos por ser atletas de alto rendimiento o por alguna otra razón, por gusto, etc. - 🕵🏻‍♀️🕵🏼‍♂️OJO: Si decides consumirla asegúrate de saber lo que estas consumiendo que sea un producto de calidad, con ingredientes seguros, y asesorado por un profesional de la salud.

This is a super long overdue post! But back in December, I hosted my first sanctioned USAW meet. We had some great competitors come out, including 4 @utah_barbell athletes! Here’s their highlights! . . Clip 1: @alopatuifua competed for the first time ever, and put on a show! She tied her snatch PR and hit a CJ PR as well. Alopa had only been training the classic lifts for a few weeks before this meet. Every single person at the meet was so impressed with how well she moved and her attitude! She just went out and crushed it! So proud of her. We have many more meets down the road for her! . . Clip 2: @john_chae81 also competed in his first sanctioned meet! He PR’d both his snatch and CJ. John was sick the whole week leading up to the meet. He didn’t let that get in the way. He stayed focused and dialed in and had a great performance. John loves this sport and has national level meets in his future if we keep moving ahead like we are!! . . Clip 3: @tanner_harward competed for the first time as well and put on a show. He reset all the state records for his age and weight class and qualified for the 2020 @usa_weightlifting Junior Nationals, which he’ll be lifting at in 2 weeks! This young man embodies hard work and humility, and I’m so blessed to work with him. The sky is literally the limit for him! . . Clip 4: @big_mike9 is a seasoned competitor, but had never done a USAW meet before. He naturally had no fear stepping onto the platform and did amazing! He qualified for the 2020 USAW University Nationals with his outstanding lifts at the meet! Mike is such a humble and dedicated athlete. He’s so coachable and is as gifted as they come . . Lastly, I want to thank @jennysuisse for helping make this possible, she literally coached me through the whole process of hosting a meet and was so patient and kind. Thank you to @troy__boy and @manuelnalvarado and all the other volunteers who came out all morning as well. So thankful for the Utah Weightlifting community!! And thank you to @crossfitlehi for hosting!!

Failed your January challenge? ▫️ As the month closes in you may be remembering that challenge you committed to tackling in January. Veganuary, dry January, ketoanuary, drink fit tea til you shit yourself anuary or whatever else you may have been swayed into it. ▫️ Firstly, you haven’t failed, you’ve learned. That lesson being that fads rarely work. Now where to go from here if you still want to work on those goals you set but are a bit lost on where to start?🤔. 1. Know your why. The reason you attempted that challenge in the first place. Perhaps what you’ve been trying to do for years now and still haven’t made moves towards it. Be specific. 2. Plan. You don’t have to become a robot, living from meal to meal and training session to session. Just have a think about what you can do this week to become a little bit healthier, slightly more active, improve your sleep and so on. 3. Ask! There are plenty of people who are more accessible than ever and who are more than happy to give you some pointers, myself included. 4. Execute. Know that you can have the best plan or coach in the world and still nobody will be there to make your choices for you. As daunting as you being responsible for every action you take may seem, it’s liberating af when you accept it.
