Kismath (Malayalam 2016)
As I was heading home today after work. My eyes stumbled upon a pair of cute couples and it suddenly reminded me of Anitha and Irfan.
The intense yet simple love story of Irfan and Anitha still brings tears into my eyes even though I watched kismath 3 years ago.
Irfan played by the incredibly talented Shane Nigam is a 21 year old guy who hasn't really strated planning his future. The plot thickens when Irfan falls in love with a research student Anitha even though they are different religious and social backgrounds.
The couple faces enormous pressure from family and society, which urges them to seek help in a local police station in their home town to get married. I don't want to give away anything more, as I think many of you have may not have watched the movie.
Kismath is a honest love story that deserves attention. It's a relatable tale that is graced by remarkable performance from the entire cast especially Vinay Fort, Shane Nigam, and Sruthy Menon.
This is the movie which made me curious and hyped to see more from Shane Nigam. And, it also showed us how talented Sruthy Menon is. (she really is a very underrated actress who deserves more credit for her works). The engaging slow bgm, soothing bgm, and breathtaking visuals adds more depth to Kismath.
So, give Kismath a try because it will surely be worth your time and please let me know what you think about the movie.
PS: The movie is roughly based on a real story that happened in Ponnani, a town in Malappuram district of Kerala.
