⚙️Gear Appreciation Post⚙️ The P3SME boasts some incredible features and amazing flexibility. Including stepped switches for threshold, ratio, and gain, 3 interchangeable time constants, variable attack and release, side chain HPF, feedback or feed forward modes, as well as a switchable output transformer, this box has many tricks up its sleeve.
The earlier models (such as mine), have wonderful Carnhill transformers. Later versions included a total Class A output, as well as Lundhal transformers, but for me there’s something about the Carnhill that adds a nice thickness to ITB mixes. By switching the O/T in, and driving the gain a bit more, you’ll notice a little more roundness in the low mids without feeling pushed adding a nice fullness to some tracks that need a little nudge in the right direction.
