For the past 5 years, I have lived in Boston, and most of my weekends were spent in church. I cantored for several parishes within the Archdiocese of Boston: Our Lady of Victories, St. Edmund's, Most Precious Blood, St. Theresa's, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Peter's, St. Charles Borromeo, St. Anthony's, St. Columbkille, St. Benedict's, and a few others.
Singing for these parishes brought me a lot of joy. It was oftentimes the highlight of my week. I'm thankful for the many opportunities, the talented organists, the caring priests. Oftentimes, I tend to think of the Church in the abstract... but really, the local Church is where the faith meets real life.
I'm moving to Montréal, a city famous for its beautiful churches. I do not have any cantoring positions lined up yet, but if I'm ever asked, I'll gladly accept. As for now, farewell Boston!
