BLOATING ‼️ here’s the first fitness life hack! 😎 . . Bloating can happen to anybody and probably happens more often than you think! Here you can see how it can affect you and what you can do about it! . . . Reasons why it happens: 1) in my first pic, you can see that after sleep, your stomach will shrink a bit so eating will expand it (note: I had a moderate sized breakfast of 800 calories) 2) sodium and water consumption definitely can impact it as well, too much sodium and too little water will cause you to boost since sodium will cause you to hold water and not having enough water will cause you to retain it 3) some foods can cause bloating and may be specific to you (such as dairy and legumes/beans) . . . How to lose the bloating: 1) as seen in my second pic, exercise is a good way to reduce bloating since you will be sweating out excess water you’re holding onto 2) drinking more water will allow your body to retain less since it will see excess water coming in that isn’t required to perform daily tasks (most people can suffice with half a gallon of water a day ~64 fl) 3) if all else fails, consulting your doctor about what foods may be causing it can definitely help! . . . Great day today with @billy.2171 at @morestrength. Thanks for having me brother. I appreciate the hospitality, the coaching, tips and everything else. It was great to catch up. Worked up to a deadlift single of 517 (not shown) guess it didn't record. About 40 lbs less than my best meet deadlift, but I don't know that I've tried to go as close to 1 rep max as possible since then so I'll take that win especially not being peaked or training deads that much recently. Last set before my top single and a couple previous ones shown. Finished with some hook grip sumos with 265? Or so which felt pretty damn good. I think I'll switch and see where I can take things. Then 4 sets of pullups to finish up. Great fucking day, super glad I came up and visited.

So as stated above I weighed in .3kg over the 74kg weight class. This was my first time ever having to do a full on water cut as I've been walking around 170lbs. It was trash, and ultimately pointless as I didn't officially make weight. I couldn't even recomp well as I threw up anything I tried to keep down except for water (food, Gatorade, trioral, and even preworkout were all no go). My approach wasn't anything crazy aggressive, but my body did not respond well. I could've competed with the other 83s in the evening, which would've given me more time to replenish. Too many people drove down to watch me though, and I wasn't about to make them wait. Just ended up competing as a guest lifter since placings at local meets don't matter to me anyway. Despite my body definitely not feeling great from the cut, today was EASILY my best meet performance. Hit an all time PR on squats, smashed my current best pull in training for an easy meet PR, and felt confident enough to try and pull 600lbs. Considering I only pulled conventional my last 3 deadlift sessions of prep, I'm VERY happy with where the strength is at. Bench was feeling amazing as it always does on meet days, but just didn't quite have 170kg/375lbs today. I was planning for this meet to be my last as a 74kg lifter, and even though I technically didn't make weight I'd say it was a great finish. Appreciate @utdpowerlifting for hosting a fun meet! Very grateful for my coach @bradcoolyard and what we've been able to build in only 4 months. Thank you to my friends/family who came to support, and to all my subs/followers who blew up my dms! Some singles with 275. I don’t know how many I did but stopped when my hand ripped a bit and the bar slipped out of my hands (it was like 8 or so...not that many). Followed by stiff legs and some ham & glute exercises. As part of the decline press routine also hit these 85sx26. These felt awesome. Goal here is 85sx30 and with these lighter dumbbells it’s much easier to set up the decline press then with the heavier ones so you’re not wasting a bunch of energy just getting into position! Part of chest day today were these floor presses with the Swiss bar. Here just 245x5 and 225x5. This was an interesting variation on a good exercise. The swiss bar makes this exercise harder imo because the bar ends up even closer to your chest and you’re in a more compromised position to press. Any variation of this exercise is great to add into your training though and it’s a good variation on normal bench that you can’t cheat at (well you can try but your elbows and wrists will hate you for it). Floor presses are a great exercise to add to your routine if you aren’t doing them already! So I’m currently out of breath trying to type this cuz I need to do power exercises more often. I also took pre workout for the first time in a minute and my HR is SPEEEDY. .. .. But Kettle bells are probably my favorite type of power exercise to do. Power exercises can increase rate of force production (how fast you move weight) and so it makes for a good exercise to do before a heavy deadlift day. Add these in after you warm up and before you add weight to the bar. .. .. Kettle bell swings are an advanced movement if you’ve never done them before. To get the same effect do box jumps!

I often get asked how I stay motivated to workout. The answer I give is never the answer they’re looking for..... truth is, motivation will not get you to where you want to be. Motivation will get you started, but DISCIPLINE is what drives you. Discipline is what separates the people who actually get shit done vs. the people who start shit and give up after 2 weeks.
