Beware of shop bought potted Christmas trees this upcoming holiday season. More than likely it will look like this guy 2 months later.
Why? Because shop bought trees are more than likely dug up from a Christmas tree farm a month or two previous. Once a tree is past the 2 feet mark, the roots of them are so vast and complex.
Digging up a Christmas tree without damaging a root is virtually impossible. And the result, the tree is dead but it dies a slow death; just enough to have the tree looking nice and healthy over Christmas.
Our potted Christmas trees are grown from bare root and have spent most of their life in a pot and not a farm, so your tree won't look like this in March..... www.christmastree.ie
