It fully required me to step into my own — and still to this day I’m tested with it. My inner critic comes up and loves to say stuff like — your not good enough for this, your not man enough, your not smart enough, your not ‘whatever’ enough. And there have been times when that has gotten to me and I start to believe it. But, at the end of the day — I’m still going to try regardless if I am or not. Because I know that the world is a far better place for having men embrace their vulnerabilities and lead with an open heart. . So this is my call to all you men! Step into the pain! Stepping into the shame! Step into the sadness! Step into that anger! You know longer need to wear a mask to cover up this stuff. I can assure you that what emerges from the embrace is such peace and relief. It’s like a coming back home.. Rest assured You don’t have to do it alone. Split Jerk Teaching Progressions! Here we have golfer @markotbanic learning a Split Jerk for the first time. Here is the exact progressions we went through (around 20 minutes to get a workable movement!) 1️⃣Foot placement drill to teach the dip, the drive, foot placement and how to stand back up again. 2️⃣Split press to build strength/stability in the catch position and teach trunk and hand positioning in a controlled manner 3️⃣Full movement with the bar in a controlled manner to teach the fluidity and timing of the movement 4️⃣Split Jerk with 65lns to add some challenge Is it perfect? So..I had my fourth surgery yesterday to remove the screws in my knee that were causing me so much pain. When they handed me the FOUR screws after surgery...wtf?!? I use smaller screws to drill in my wall!! Happy Saturday!!!!🎉 I didn’t have any long runs last week due to my monthly visitor (TMI) plus being sick. I did 7.10 today and it felt great! 🏃🏻‍♀️I tried some gel mid-way and I really didn’t notice any big difference. Though in my mind I was going to all of a sudden take off with lightening ⚡️ speed 🤣. I am sooo motivated now that I’ve committed to going to the #riserun2020 ! My hotel is booked. I am going! Now if only registration would open, so I could book my flight. Soon, hopefully. I have great visions of just how amazing this 13.1 miles will be! 🏃🏻‍♀️ Lately, I have felt very recharged. I listened to Girl, Wash Your Face again. I’ll be starting GSA when I head back to work on Tuesday. I honestly feel like I could take on the world. Things that would have stressed me last year, honestly, don’t stress me at all. I feel confident. I feel bold. Let me change that. I AM CONFIDENT. I AM BOLD. I’m super excited for a long weekend (despite the 5-8 inches of snow we are getting). I am going to clean my house and organize my life! I might not have a Priority Planner but I certainly have a notebook 💪🏻. Using a resistance band to challenge my lifts helped me to open up my hip flexors, strengthen my knees, add attention to my abductors and my glutei muscles. By adding progressive resistance in the form of a band, it made all the change in the world for my lifts and strength. The band also forces you to open up your hips, which allows you to go deeper into a squat position therefore making it harder to round/hyper-extend your back. • A common form fail with squats is the caving in of the knees. This is often primarily caused by weak abductors and glutei muscles. I noticed as I increased the load in my lifts my knees would start to cave in so I had some work to do. By adding a resistance band and also completing exercises to directly strengthen my knees, my lifts improved fully. • Whether you are a squat pro or have some cleaning up to do, adding a band is a great way to get the most out of your squats or many other leg exercises. • If you are looking for a great resistance band try our @sweet_cheeks_co bands.
