#Repost @astronomusofficial (@get_repost) ・・・ Humans and Total Solar Eclipse 🌕🙏 Follow 👉 @space_faring⠀ • • • • • •⠀ The sun entered a total eclipse over South America for a few minutes on Tuesday, 2 July, 2019.⠀ Thousands of locals and tourists watched in northern Chile as the sky darkened at 4.38pm local time (9.38pm BST).⠀ Some people had travelled to South America just to watch the solar event, which lasted around four minutes. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, plunging the planet into darkness. It happens only rarely in any given spot across the globe. This is the greatest eclipse ever for astronomers.⠀ For the most part, the eclipse passed over uninhabited parts of the world. It spent much of its time over the Pacific Ocean, as well as trailing over the Andes mountain range.⠀ .⠀ Via @talkwidtech⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ .⠀ #astroworld #deepspace #constellation #outerspace #astronomer #space #cosmos #astronomy #astrophysics #esa #stargazer #galactic #telescope #nebula #galaxy #carlsagan #universe #stars #hubble #neildegrassetyson #astro_photography #observatory #natgeospace #spacetime #nightscape #stephenhawking

My favourite photo I've taken recently is probably my worst. I was at the @bakerstreetirregulars meetup letting people see Saturn and Jupiter for the first time and I was annoyed that I didn't have my CCD or SLR. Seeing was great for Central London so I couldn't help taking a photo with my Google Pixel. I can't wait to compare my first shot of Saturn to future ones with my SLR. 🔭 Celestron Nexstar 4SE 📸 Google Pixel 3XL . . . . . . . . #saturn #nightphotography #nightscape #night #telescope #Celestron #celestrontelescope #celestronrocks #london #universetoday #universe #stars #astrophotography #astronomy #space #spacephotography #spacex #nasa #youresa #esa #travel #nature #naturephotography #googlepixel3 #google #googlepixel

WOW! 😍🤤 Spectacular new Image of Mars - From Clouds to Craters! 👈 (swipe left) • This beautiful view from @europeanspaceagency ’s Mars Express stretches from the bright, cloud-covered north pole of #Mars to the contrasting hues of the northern hemisphere and the cratered terrain in the south. • The spacecraft imaged this slice across the planet’s surface in June 2019, when the camera took several global views. Visible at the top of the frame is Mars’ ethereal north pole: this is permanently covered by a cap of frozen water and carbon dioxide, which thickens in the northern martian winter and thins in the summer. • The northern #polarcap is seen here encircled by bright, eye-catching clouds, tendrils of which snake downwards from the polar region to obscure some of the planet’s northern hemisphere. As this image shows, this patch of Mars is a mix of different tones and colours – a reflection of the different chemical and physical characteristics of the material that makes up the surface. Mars’ two hemispheres are very different in a number of ways. • Most notably, the #northern hemisphere sits several kilometres lower than the southern, and the two are separated by a distinctive, rugged boundary formed of canyons, cliffs and scarps, fractures, valleys, flat-topped mounds known as mesas, and many other features. The northern hemisphere is also characterised by low-lying plains that are largely unmarked by impact craters and thus thought to be relatively young, while the southern hemisphere is ancient, showing signs of intense cratering. 📸 @europeanspaceagency / @germanaerospacecenter /FU Berlin #astronomy #earth #planets #spaceart #galaxy#nasa #cosmos #telescope #hubble #science#galaxies #spacetravel #star #stars #astronaut#universe #spacestation #astronautlife#spacetoday #spaceman #spacelovers #scifi#surrealart #quantumphysics

Many details of Saturn appear clearly in infrared light. Bands of clouds show great structure, including long stretching storms. Also quite striking in infrared is the unusual hexagonal cloud pattern surrounding Saturn's North Pole. Each side of the dark hexagon spans roughly the width of our Earth. The hexagon's existence was not predicted, and its origin and likely stability remains a topic of research. Saturn's famous rings circle the planet and cast shadows below the equator. Repost from @spaceorama Dragon is important for SpaceX to learn and improve the transportation to earth orbit. But they also get important knowledge of how to get stuff to Mars or something like the Deep space Gateway in the future. So they have information and data. Which competition like blue origin and ULA have not, And maybe, Dragon have also a reason, why SpaceX still exist today. After Elon Musk spent all his money on SpaceX and Tesla ,the NASA Contract for ISS resupply with Dragon was a reason, why the company began earning money, next to Musk's smart decisions. M27- Dumbbell Nebula =============================================== OTA: GSO Ritchey–Chrétien 6" Mount: iOptron CEM25P Camera: Canon EOS 800D Frames: 84 x 60" unguided Total Exposure: 84 minutes (1.4hrs) Stacking: Ripley PIXINSIGHT Core 1.8.6 Processing: Ripley PIXINSIGHT Core 1.8.6, Adobe Photoshop CS6 =============================================== Spotted by Charles Messier in 1764, M27 was the first planetary nebula ever discovered. The term “planetary nebula” is a bit of a misnomer based on the nebula’s round, planet-like appearance when viewed through smaller telescopes. The nebula is the result of an old star that has shed its outer layers in a glowing display of colour. M27 resides more than 1,200 light-years away in the constellation Vulpecula. With an apparent magnitude of 7.5, the nebula can be spotted with a small telescope most easily in September. =============================================== #space #nebula #astronomy #astrophotography #m57 #deepsky #nightsky #planetarynebula #whitedwarf #ring #canon #ioptron #cem25p #telescope #hubble #pixinsight

Bu gördüyünüz "The Lord Of The Rings" filmindəki "Sauron" adlı xarakterin gözü deyil. Bir Günəş nöqtəsidir! Günəş nöqtələri, Günəşin fotosfer təbəqəsində yaranan müvəqqəti hadisələrdir. Xaricdən qara rəngdə görsənən bu bölgələr, çox yoğun maqnetik fəaliyyət nəticəsində yaranırlar. Bu maqnetik fəaliyyət, səth tempraturunun müəyyən bölgələrdə düşməsinə səbəb olur və bunlar da xaricdən qara olaraq görsənməsinə səbəb olur. Əslində qara rəngdə deyildirlər, sadəcə ətraflarındakı bölgə çox parlaq olduğu üçün bizə sanki qara rəngmiş kimi görsənirlər. Həmin bölgələr 2700 ilə 4200 °C arasında dəyişən tempura sahibdirlər. Ətrafları isə təxminən 5550 °C olduğu üçün qara rəng olaraq görsənirlər. Günəş nöqtələri 16 kilometr ilə 160.000 kilometr arasında dəyişən bir diametrə sahibdirlər. (Yerin diametri isə 12.000 kilometrdir.) Çox böyük olanları bəzən bir teleskop lazım olmadan belə görülə bilər. Çox vaxt günəş nöqtələri cüt halda yaranırlar. . . . #astronomy#science#solarsystem#sun#planets#sky#space#cosmos#galaxy#universe#stars#nasa#night#astrophotography#milkyway#nightsky#nature#astrophysics#love#physics#art#star#earth#beautiful#nebula#life#astro#light#telescope
